Manuscript editing and proofreading
Manuscript editing and proofreading is the most frequently requested service. And so it should be. Every text can be improved if another person looks at it, so every text should receive this service.
Most clients are researchers who have English as a second language and would like their articles improved before they submit them to a scientific journal. Nevertheless, many authors with excellent English skills also recognise that they can benefit from my professional service.
Pricing depends on the specific service. Standard service A$0.10 per word (approximately US$0.08, €0.06, ¥9.57 per word)
Conference posters and abstracts
Preparing posters and abstracts presents special problems, as you have very limited space in which to present your work. I can accurately distil your text so all the essential points can be included within the strict word or space limits.
If your abstract needs to be prepared as camera-ready copy within a specific template, I can do that for you.
Figures and tables
Often your most important results will be presented in figures or tables, so you need to take as much care to ensure these are clear and well presented as you do for your text.
I can design your tables so they present your work clearly in as little space as possible. I can also draw clear, publication quality graphs from your data.
Your document may need other types of figures, such as flow charts or schematic diagrams. I can prepare these for you.
Article submission
Most journals now use online submission services, and there are many variations in what they require. Should you upload a Word document or a PDF? Should figures be embedded in the text at the appropriate place, or on separate pages at the end of the document, or in separate files? What file format must you use for figures? What resolution and dimensions? Should tables be placed where they occur in the text, or on separate pages at the end? What information is needed about each author?
I can navigate this maze for you. Tell me which journal you are submitting to, send me your final edited article with all figures and tables, and I will ensure everything is prepared according to the journal’s requirements. I can then either return thefiles to you with detailed instructions on how to upload them, or I can upload them for you.
