How do I request a quote or place an order?
You should email your document with full details of the service you want to editor@bioscience-editor.com. See Order or request quote for details.
How long will it take?
For Budget and Standard manuscript editing services, turnaround times are 3 to 10 days, starting after you agree to my quote and terms of service.
For Comprehensive manuscript editing and other services, I will quote a turnaround time when I quote the fee.
Can I fax or post my document to you?
No. I work entirely online with electronic documents.
What types of document will you work on?
I will work on any document related to biological or medical science.
What file types can you handle?
I can work with any wordprocessor file type. I normally use Microsoft Word or OpenOffice Writer for editing.
For figures, I can work with most formats. If I create figures for you, they will normally be publication quality EPS or TIFF format.
Can you handle LATEX documents?
Yes. I am very experienced in using LATEX. I work directly in the source file, without converting it to Word or other format.
What if I have questions about the changes you have made?
When you have reviewed the edited document, contact me with any questions you have. This is included in the quoted fee.
I used your service, but the journal reviewers said my English needs improvement.
Please send me the version you submitted to the journal together with the reviewers’ comments.
What if I am not happy with the service?
If you have any problems with the quality of work or service, please contact me to discuss it. I will work with you to ensure all your concerns are addressed.
Do you do all the work personally?
For individual clients: Depending on my workload, I may subcontract the work to another editor whom I know will produce high quality work. I will still review the document before I return it to you, and I will take responsibility for the work. If you prefer, you can specify when you order that I should perform the work myself.
For organisations: The negotiated Terms of Service will specify whether I do the work personally or subcontract it. I will always review the work, and take responsibility for it.
I found someone who will edit my document for a lower fee.
I am sure you did. But can you expect the same quality of work?
Are their qualifications in editing and publishing, or in some other field? Have they specialised in bioscience documents, or do they edit any subject offered to them? Do they demonstrate professionalism, with appropriate recognition of issues such as confidentiality and ethics?
Why does your editing site have links to dance companies?
I can’t work all the time; I need some time to relax and refresh. Dancing Ceroc and west coast swing clears my mind and lets me focus better when I’m working on your text. (Plus I get to put my arms around beautiful women several nights a week.)
